I watch the sunrise nearly every morning. It is a constant source of inspiration. I particularly like the stormy days when the sun manages to peak through the clouds. In the Observations of Nature series I have included the weather data for the moment of the sunrise. This data has been etched onto perspex and placed above the sunrise painting. Climate data is increasingly important as we enter an era of unprecedented climate change. The weather data needs to be analysed over time. As it accrues and is aggregated, patterns become apparent. Although the future looks bleak, I have included the sunrise as a symbol of hope. We can meet the challenges of climate change if we all do what we can to tackle it. Some of us have special skills that we can use to fight climate change. Some of us have time we can devote to the cause, and some of us have money to donate to organisations who are helping the planet. Whatever your contribution, know that you can make a difference!

Measuring just 8 inches by 10 inches, these mixed media works are petite. The frames open like a book and have a cute little clasp. They turned out really well and I thank my husband for doing such a great job with the framing.

These paintings will be for sale at the Linden Postcard Show 2020.
